In September 2024 I was present for the entire Uhuru 3 Trial in Tampa, FL. It was an honor to document history as a courtroom sketch artist for Burning Spear Media, but more importantly to be there as a long time supporter and member of the Uhuru Movement. Chairman Omali Yeshitela (center), Penny Hess (left) and Jesse Nevel (right) are the main targets in the FBI’s attack on the black liberation movement claiming that the Chairman was an “agent of Russia”.
This article from the Hands Off Uhuru campaign sums up the verdict and significance of the trial: It’s not over! Fight back against the Uhuru 3 “conspiracy” verdict! Defeat the U.S. government’s use of “thought crimes” as an attack on the right to free speech!
