Self publishing transformed my life as a young adult through the culture of trading and the propaganda power of a copy machine. The zines shown here were published between 2010-2016 and were printed in small batches, except for my first book in 2014 Tumble the Boulder which was professionally printed with 230 copies.
In 2011, I co-founded the first annual Zine Fest Berlin and organized it for the next 4 years. ZFB has continued since then, now in it’s 10th year as an internationally recognized arts institution in Europe.
During this timeframe I ran an online zine distro called “Raumschiff Distribution & Press”, based in Berlin. Here is where I sold my zines as well as many other political texts that I would photocopy and distribute. I traveled to many zine festivals around Europe bringing a traveling zine library to share and doing zine workshops.
